AI Startup Rising Program Extends Support for Research-Driven AI Startups in Germany

Hessian Centre for Artificial Intelligence announced continued funding for its AI Startup Rising (AISR) program, which has supported more than 200 artificial intelligence startup teams since launching in 2021. By the end of 2025, participating companies had collectively raised over €60 million in private investment, significantly exceeding public funding provided by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. The initiative will continue through March 2027.

The program connects startup development with academic research at TU Darmstadt and broader European AI infrastructure efforts, including the JUPITER AI Factory consortium. TU Darmstadt President Tanja Brühl emphasized the role of integrated research, infrastructure, and startup support in accelerating responsible AI innovation across Germany and Europe.
