YouTube Expands Conversational AI Assistant to Smart TVs and Streaming Devices

YouTube is expanding its conversational artificial intelligence feature to smart TVs, gaming consoles, and streaming devices, bringing interactive AI assistance to large-screen viewing. Previously limited to mobile and web platforms, the tool allows users to ask questions about videos in real time without leaving playback.

Eligible viewers can activate the assistant through an on-screen “Ask” button or via voice input using a remote microphone, receiving contextual answers related to the content. The feature is currently available to select users aged 18 and older and supports multiple languages, including English, Hindi, Spanish, Portuguese, and Korean.

The rollout reflects YouTube’s broader strategy to enhance content discovery and engagement through AI as television viewing becomes a dominant channel for the platform.
