Sunseeker Launches New Self-Driving-Level Robot Mower

Insider Brief

  • Sunseeker Robotics said it will launch the LiDAR-enabled Sunseeker S4 robotic mower on March 3, 2026, a wire-free lawn care system designed to autonomously manage residential yards up to 1,000 square meters (about a quarter acre).
  • The mower combines LiDAR and AI-vision navigation with autonomous path planning to map lawns in real time, avoid obstacles such as trees, pets and toys, and operate without perimeter wires or external antennas.
  • Priced at $1,599, the S4 will be sold through Amazon and Sunseeker’s direct-to-consumer channels as the company expands its U.S. presence with robotic lawn systems designed for complex residential environments.

PRESS RELEASE — Sunseeker Robotics has launched a new wire-free robotic mower using LiDAR navigation as it expands its lineup of automated lawn-care equipment in the U.S. market.

According to the company, the Sunseeker S4 robotic mower is designed for residential yards up to 1,000 square meters, or roughly a quarter acre. The mower combines LiDAR sensing with AI-based vision systems to map and navigate lawns without relying on perimeter wires or external antennas, a common requirement for many robotic mowers.

Sunseeker said the system uses multi-sensor perception and autonomous path planning to adjust to changing environments, including uneven terrain, slopes and obstacles such as trees, toys and pets. The approach is intended to improve navigation and coverage across more complex yard layouts compared with earlier wire-guided or randomly navigating systems.

The company said its development team drew on more than a decade of lawn-and-garden product experience in designing the mower’s terrain handling, edge-cutting performance and safety features.

The Sunseeker S4 comes with a $1,599 price tag and will be available through direct-to-consumer channels, including Amazon and the company’s online store.

Sunseeker North America is located in North Carolina. Founded in 2009, Sunseeker develops robotic lawn-care equipment and has previously introduced wireless robotic mower systems between 2019 and 2023. The company said the S4 represents its first LiDAR-based model aimed at residential yards with more complex layouts.

— Sunseeker, a global leader in intelligent lawn care, announced the launch date of the wireless LiDAR Sunseeker S4 Robotic Mower, a next-generation, wire-free lawn care solution designed to deliver self-driving-level autonomy for real, complex residential yards.

Built to handle lawns up to 1,000 m² (approximately ¼ acre), the Sunseeker S4 combines LiDAR and AI Vision navigation to intelligently manage the messy, uneven realities of everyday backyards. Slopes, trees, toys, pets, kids, and constantly changing obstacles are all part of the environment the S4 is designed to understand and navigate, bringing multi-sensor autonomous driving technology to spaces where traditional robotic mowers often struggle.

Unlike robotic mowers that rely on random routes or perimeter wires, the S4 uses multi-sensor perception and autonomous path planning to map and adapt to its surroundings in real time. The result is consistent coverage, improved obstacle avoidance, and reliable operation across complex lawn layouts without the need for boundary wires or external antennas.

The S4 is built by a team with nearly 15 years of lawn-and-garden experience. That experience shaped every aspect of the product, from terrain handling and edge performance to durability and safety features. The S4 was designed not for demo lawns, but for the yards people actually live in.

“At Sunseeker, we believe innovation and intelligent design are the future of outdoor living,” said Terry Ma, CEO of Sunseeker Robotics. “Our expanded product lineup is transforming lawn care, bringing smarter, greener, and more effortless solutions to every home.”

The Sunseeker S4 is expected to launch on March 3rd, 2026, with a suggested retail price of $1,599. It will be available through Sunseeker’s direct-to-consumer channels, including Amazon and the company’s official website at www.shopsunseekertech.com. The launch marks Sunseeker’s continued expansion in the U.S. market and its first LiDAR-powered robotic mower purpose-built for complex residential environments.
