ByteDance has announced the rollout of its Dreamina Seedance 2.0 audio and video generation model within its CapCut editing platform, marking an expansion of its AI-powered creative tools. The model enables creators to generate, edit, and synchronize video and audio using prompts, images, or reference content, with support for clips up to 15 seconds across multiple formats.
The phased launch begins in markets including Brazil, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam, while the model remains available in China through the Jianying app. The rollout follows scrutiny around intellectual property concerns, contributing to a limited initial release.
Dreamina Seedance 2.0 supports a range of use cases, from content prototyping to production editing, and includes safeguards such as watermarking and restrictions on generating real faces or unauthorized copyrighted material.
