AI surveillance startup Conntour has raised $7 million in seed funding from General Catalyst, Y Combinator, SV Angel, and Liquid 2 Ventures, signaling strong investor confidence in next-generation vision-language monitoring systems .
Led by co-founder and CEO Matan Goldner, the company is developing an AI-driven platform that enables security teams to query live and recorded video feeds using natural language, identifying objects, behaviors, and incidents in real time. The system can also autonomously detect threats and generate alerts, while scaling efficiently across thousands of camera feeds .
Conntour positions its technology as more flexible than legacy surveillance systems by leveraging vision-language models rather than fixed parameters. Goldner has emphasized a selective approach to customers, citing ethical considerations in deployment, as the company expands amid growing debate around AI, privacy, and surveillance use cases
