Salesforce has unveiled a significant expansion of its AI strategy with a major update to Slack, introduced at an event in San Francisco led by CEO Marc Benioff and senior leadership. The update centers on an enhanced Slackbot, now equipped with more than 30 new AI-driven capabilities designed to automate enterprise workflows and decision-making.
The upgraded Slackbot introduces reusable AI skills, enabling users to define and deploy repeatable tasks across multiple business contexts. The system can aggregate data from Slack channels and connected applications, generate plans, and coordinate meetings automatically. Integration with Agentforce, Salesforce’s AI agent platform, allows Slackbot to route tasks across enterprise systems without human intervention.
Interim Slack CEO Rob Seaman has indicated that the platform now also supports meeting transcription, summarization, and contextual task suggestions based on user activity, as Salesforce positions Slack as a central AI-powered operating layer for modern businesses.
