The show will operate under OpenAI’s strategy team and report to Chris Lehane, with continued editorial independence.
TBPN, founded and hosted by John Coogan and Jordi Hays, has built a strong following through its daily live programming focused on technology, business, AI, and defense, featuring leading industry figures including Sam Altman, Satya Nadella, Marc Benioff, and Mark Zuckerberg.
Fidji Simo has indicated that the acquisition reflects OpenAI’s intent to scale its communication strategy and leverage TBPN’s media expertise to broaden public understanding of AI and its real-world impact.
