Sierra, the enterprise AI startup led by co-founder and CEO Bret Taylor, has launched Ghostwriter, a new AI agent designed to create and deploy other agents using natural language. The platform enables users to describe tasks conversationally, allowing Ghostwriter to autonomously build specialised agents, positioning AI as a replacement for traditional click-based software interfaces.
Taylor, formerly co-CEO of Salesforce, indicated that enterprise software is moving toward natural language interaction, reducing the need for users to navigate complex systems. Sierra reported rapid deployment capabilities, citing implementations such as an agent built for Nordstrom in a matter of weeks.
The company has scaled quickly, reaching a $100 million annual revenue run rate within two years and achieving a $10 billion valuation. The launch reflects growing momentum behind AI agents, even as implementation continues to require ongoing engineering support.
