In a press release at CES 2025 in Las Vegas, Bosch highlighted its advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) and digital solutions, showcasing how these technologies are transforming everyday life. The company stressed AI’s integral role in its operations, with AI featured in every product or production process. Bosch aims to exceed €6 billion in annual software and services sales by the next decade, with its Mobility sector driving two-thirds of this revenue.
Tanja Rueckert, Bosch board member, described AI and software as cornerstones of the company’s core business, supported by over 1,500 patents and nearly 5,000 AI specialists. Bosch’s AI Academy has trained 65,000 associates, reflecting its commitment to workforce upskilling.
Bosch’s innovations include AI-enhanced mobility solutions, such as multifunctional cameras for assisted driving and generative AI applications to train automated driving systems more efficiently. In consumer products, Bosch debuted an AI-based oven capable of recognizing and optimizing cooking processes, and an intelligent baby crib equipped with sensors to monitor vital signs and provide safety alerts.
The company also showcased MEMS sensors integrated with AI, which power devices from smartphones to fitness trackers while maintaining data privacy. Bosch plans to produce 10 billion of these sensors by 2030.
Strategically, Bosch is expanding in the U.S. with its largest acquisition — Johnson Controls’ HVAC business for $8 billion — and a $1.9 billion investment in a chip factory in Roseville, California, to produce silicon carbide semiconductors for electric vehicles by 2026. These moves reinforce the U.S. as a key growth market for the company.
