Figma, the San Francisco-based design and collaboration platform founded by Dylan Field and Evan Wallace, has expanded its global footprint with the opening of a new office in Bengaluru, India. The move marks a significant step in the company’s effort to deepen engagement with one of its largest and fastest-growing user bases while strengthening its presence among India’s vast developer community.
Led by Abhishek Mathur, Figma’s Vice President of Engineering, the company aims to reposition itself beyond a design tool by integrating AI-driven features that bridge design and development workflows. India already represents Figma’s second-largest market globally, with widespread adoption across startups and enterprises including CRED, Swiggy, Zomato, Infosys, and TCS.
The Bengaluru office will focus on sales, marketing, and community engagement as Figma expands AI-powered tools such as Figma Make, which enables users to generate functional web applications from natural language. With India producing more than 800,000 prototypes on the platform to date, Figma views the country as a cornerstone for its next phase of global AI and developer growth.
