AI Startup DryMerge Announces $2.2M in Seed Funding

DryMerge, founded by longtime friends Edward Frazer and Samuel Brashears, raised $2.2 million in its seed funding round. Launched in 2023, the company initially aimed to automate API integrations for developers but quickly expanded its focus to automating repetitive tasks for a broader audience.

Frazer, a Yale dropout, and Brashears, a University of Wisconsin graduate, remain the sole employees of the company. “Automating work makes people’s jobs 10x more enjoyable,” Frazer shared, adding that thousands of users are already saving hours daily through DryMerge’s AI-powered automation for tasks like CRM data entry and support requests.

The seed funding came from investors including Y Combinator, Garage Capital, Goodwater Capital, and several angel investors. The founders, who were initially unsure of their direction, honed their product after talking to over 100 users, focusing on solving real workflow problems. DryMerge was one of only 260 companies accepted into Y Combinator’s Winter 2024 Batch, chosen from over 27,000 applicants.
