Polish startup iDocly, known locally as Coraz Zdrowiej, has secured €2.4 million to enhance its AI-powered solution for automating medical documentation. The funding, backed by the Małopolska Centre for Entrepreneurship through a competitive selection process and a private investor, will fuel the expansion and refinement of its CORA system, which aims to free up substantial time for doctors by automating routine documentation tasks.
Hubert Zieliński, co-founder of Coraz Zdrowiej, explained that the company’s mission centers on improving doctors’ efficiency, as a significant portion of each patient visit is typically spent on medical documentation or “paperwork.” He noted that, to address this challenge, they developed the CORA system, which functions as a medical assistant by listening to doctor-patient conversations and automatically completing medical documentation. This system, he said, enables doctors to focus fully on their patients rather than on the computer.
The CORA system uses a highly specialized AI model tailored to understand Polish medical language, which Zieliński noted as essential since no existing technology supports Polish medical terminology at this depth. CORA’s development team includes experts in AI and medicine, and they collaborate with researchers from AGH University in Kraków to continuously improve the system’s accuracy and functionality.
The model can capture essential details from doctor-patient conversations, translating them into concise medical notes. Doctors can review and edit these notes or approve them as-is, keeping full control over the documentation process.
With this funding, Coraz Zdrowiej plans to accelerate CORA’s development and explore additional investment to further scale the platform and pursue opportunities in international markets.
