xAI Launches Grok 4 and $300 SuperGrok Plan as It Challenges AI Industry Leaders

Elon Musk’s AI company xAI has released its latest flagship model, Grok 4, alongside Grok 4 Heavy, a high-performance, multi-agent version of the model. The release is paired with SuperGrok Heavy, xAI’s most premium subscription plan to date, priced at $300 per month. Subscribers will gain early access to Grok 4 Heavy and upcoming tools.

Positioned as a direct rival to OpenAI’s GPT-5 and Google’s Gemini 2.5, Grok 4 shows strong performance on key AI benchmarks, including Humanity’s Last Exam and ARC-AGI-2. The launch arrives as xAI seeks to reposition Grok as an enterprise-ready solution, despite recent controversies surrounding its chatbot behavior. API access and further product rollouts are expected in the coming months.
