Figure AI in Talks to Secure $1.5B, Valuing Robotics Startup at $39.5B

Figure AI, a leading robotics startup, is in discussions to raise $1.5 billion in a Series C funding round, which would push its valuation to $39.5 billion. The round is expected to be led by Parkway Venture Capital, with Align Ventures also participating, according to sources familiar with the matter.

As AI advancements fuel rapid innovation in robotics, major tech companies including Nvidia, Meta Platforms, and Tesla are racing to develop humanoid robots capable of addressing labor shortages and handling repetitive, high-risk tasks in industries such as logistics, warehousing, and manufacturing. Figure AI, which counts BMW as a customer, is at the forefront of this movement.

The company previously raised $675 million, attracting investment from OpenAI, NVIDIA, Microsoft, and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, bringing its valuation to $2.6 billion. Brett Adcock, Founder and CEO of Figure AI, recently announced that the startup had ended its collaboration with OpenAI, citing internal breakthroughs in robotic AI that rendered external partnerships unnecessary. He emphasized that Figure AI’s proprietary AI models are fully developed in-house, ensuring independence in innovation.

The funding discussions come amid Meta Platforms’ internal efforts to develop AI-powered humanoid robots through a new division within its Reality Labs unit, signaling an intensifying race in the AI-driven robotics space.
