Genspark Secures $100M in Series A Funding to Challenge AI Search Market

According to Reuters, Genspark, an AI-powered search startup, has raised $100 million in a Series A funding round, valuing the company at $530 million. The investment, led by U.S. and Singapore-based investors, positions Genspark as a formidable challenger in the evolving AI search landscape.

The company, which currently boasts over 2 million monthly active users, previously raised $60 million in a seed round last June. CEO Eric Jing, formerly the head of Baidu’s AI-powered Xiaodu unit, is leading the company’s push to disrupt the search engine dominance of Google. Genspark’s AI-driven search platform delivers single-answer results with citations, offering an alternative to traditional link-based search models.

As Google and OpenAI expand AI search capabilities, Genspark joins a growing field of competitors, including Perplexity, valued at $9 billion. The company has developed a proprietary feature that leverages multiple AI models for in-depth online research, positioning itself as a leader in the next generation of AI-powered search solutions.
