Reddit said its AI-powered search initiatives are becoming a key strategic focus as the company works to integrate generative AI into how users discover information on the platform. During its fourth-quarter earnings call, CEO Steve Huffman described generative AI search as particularly effective for questions that benefit from multiple perspectives drawn from community discussions.
The company reported strong adoption across its search products, with weekly active users of Reddit search increasing from 60 million to 80 million over the past year, while its AI-powered Reddit Answers feature grew from 1 million to 15 million weekly users during 2025. Reddit is working to unify traditional search with AI-generated responses and expand multilingual and media-rich capabilities. The company also noted continued growth in its AI data licensing business as it positions itself as a destination for AI-powered answers.
