Harmony Intelligence Raises $3M to Strengthen AI-Powered Cyber Defense

Harmony Intelligence has secured $3 million in seed funding to accelerate the development of next-generation AI-driven cybersecurity solutions. The investment, led by Airtree with participation from First Row Partners, Maxwell Capital, and Eric Ries, comes at a time when AI-powered cyber threats are escalating worldwide. With over half of U.S. and U.K. businesses targeted by deepfake scams and high-profile breaches such as the $25 million theft at UK engineering firm Arup, organizations are struggling to keep pace with evolving threats.

Co-founder and CEO Soroush Pour highlighted the urgency of the situation, stating that AI-driven attacks are outpacing traditional security measures, leaving businesses vulnerable to increasingly sophisticated threats. He emphasized Harmony’s mission to stay ahead of these challenges by developing AI-powered defenses that adapt at the same pace as emerging cyber risks.

Harmony Intelligence has already established itself as a leader in AI safety evaluation, working with global AI labs and government agencies to assess security vulnerabilities in frontier models. The company has contributed to cybersecurity testing for the International Network of AI Safety Institutes and has advised the Australian Senate on AI risks.

With the new funding, Harmony will focus on building automated AI penetration testing systems capable of continuously identifying and mitigating security weaknesses before they can be exploited. Co-founder and CTO Alex Browne explained that the future of cybersecurity requires AI-powered defenses that can outpace AI-driven attacks, ensuring organizations remain resilient in an increasingly automated threat landscape.

Airtree partner Jax Vullinghs described the evolving cybersecurity landscape as an arms race, noting that as AI tools become more accessible, bad actors are leveraging them at an unprecedented rate. He emphasized that Harmony’s deep expertise in AI and cybersecurity makes it a critical player in addressing these emerging threats.

Founded by Pour and Browne, both former Plaid employees with extensive experience in cybersecurity and AI, Harmony has built a global team of researchers and engineers across the U.S. and Australia. As the company scales, it is actively hiring to expand its capabilities and advance AI-driven cybersecurity solutions that protect critical infrastructure and enterprises worldwide.
