AvatarOS, a next-generation AI avatar platform founded by Isaac Bratzel, has raised $7 million in seed funding led by M13’s Latif Peracha, with participation from Andreessen Horowitz Games Fund, HF0, Valia Ventures, and Mento VC. Bratzel, known for creating virtual influencers Lil Miquela and Amelia 2.0, aims to develop high-quality avatars with unique, lifelike movements and personalized traits.
Bratzel stated that while generative AI has made digital avatars more accessible, most lack distinct characteristics beyond aesthetics. He emphasized that AvatarOS is focused on crafting avatars that feel permanent and evolve over time, much like Lil Miquela, rather than mass-produced, click-to-generate content. He also highlighted the need for differentiation in an era of AI-generated saturation.
Peracha noted that this round supports an exploratory phase to refine the business model and identify the best market fit. He added that Bratzel’s extensive experience in AI-driven avatars made him the ideal founder to lead this innovation. As part of due diligence, Peracha even engaged with an avatar of Bratzel to assess his vision.
AvatarOS is currently onboarding beta users, providing access to existing avatars and launching an API that enables clients to integrate AI-powered avatars into their platforms. These avatars can leverage large language models for interactivity while allowing customization of camera angles and movement. Bratzel stated that the company’s core differentiation lies in how avatars move, ensuring that each behaves uniquely rather than generically.
The fresh funding will be used to expand the team and further develop machine learning-based deformers to create natural, lifelike avatar motion. With this approach, AvatarOS aims to set a new standard in AI-driven digital identity.
