Skyfire Launches AI-Native Payments Infrastructure to Power Autonomous Transactions

Skyfire has officially launched its AI-driven payments infrastructure, enabling seamless, autonomous transactions for AI agents. The company, which raised $8.5 million last year, provides a financial operating layer that includes secure wallet access, verifiable agent identity, and an open payment protocol designed for AI-driven economies.

CEO Amir Sarhangi stated that AI agents are increasingly becoming the new consumers of the internet, but traditional payment systems lack the scale and efficiency required to support them. He emphasized that Skyfire removes this barrier by granting AI agents the ability to transact independently, unlocking their full potential in accessing websites, paywalls, and paid services.

Co-founder Craig DeWitt added that AI payment and identity needs differ fundamentally from conventional online transactions. He explained that Skyfire’s infrastructure is not an incremental improvement but a completely new approach tailored for AI commerce, allowing businesses to operate at global scale with programmable financial systems.

Sarhangi and DeWitt, who previously collaborated at Ripple, bring deep expertise in financial technology. Sarhangi also founded Jibe Mobile, later acquired by Google, where it became the backbone of Android Messenger. With strong traction during beta, Skyfire is now rolling out its solution to businesses looking to integrate AI-native payments and streamline transactions in the AI economy.
