Wuhan has launched its “AI+” initiative, introducing policies to accelerate AI applications across 20 industries as part of its broader strategy to strengthen the city’s AI ecosystem. The Wuhan Municipal People’s Government announced ten key measures, including support for technological innovation, enhanced computing power, and large-model development.
The city will allocate at least 10 million yuan annually in computing power subsidies for SMEs and up to 20 million yuan per project for AI technology breakthroughs. Wuhan’s AI sector is expected to surpass 70 billion yuan in 2024, driven by 30% annual growth and over 1,000 AI-focused companies.
Key focus areas include humanoid robots, intelligent connected vehicles, and dataset development, with collaborations involving Huawei and Baidu.
