AI-driven customer support startup 14.ai has secured $3 million in seed funding led by Y Combinator, with participation from General Catalyst, Base Case Capital, SV Angel, and founders of Dropbox, Slack, Replit, and Vercel. Founded by Marie Schneegans and Michael Fester, the company positions itself not as a traditional SaaS vendor but as an AI-native customer service agency that fully replaces legacy support operations.
The platform integrates rapidly with existing systems and manages tickets across email, chat, voice, and social channels, automating large portions of support workflows while maintaining human oversight. 14.ai reports serving clients including Yon-KA, Brilliant Labs, and Creative Lighting. With a team of six AI engineers, the company plans to expand hiring and further automate support, sales, and revenue workflows, aiming to reduce reliance on ticketing software, add-on AI tools, and large support teams.
