Notion has officially launched Notion Mail, a modular, AI-powered email client for Gmail users, designed to integrate seamlessly with its broader productivity platform. Announced Tuesday, the new product allows users to organize emails, draft responses, schedule meetings, and search messages using AI, all within a fully customizable interface.
Jason Ginsberg, lead for Notion Mail and co-founder of Skiff — the encrypted collaboration startup acquired by Notion in 2024 — said the goal was not just to enhance the inbox, but to rebuild it.
The AI features, available for free with usage limits or through a paid plan, distinguish Notion Mail from competitors by focusing on personalized organization rather than just faster composition. One standout tool auto-labels emails by topic and routes them to smart views — ideal for users managing complex workflows like job applications or customer feedback.
Built atop Skiff’s infrastructure, Notion Mail is tightly integrated with other Notion products, including Notion Calendar and the platform’s internal knowledge base. These connections enable shortcuts such as suggesting meeting times directly from emails based on availability.
Ginsberg said most AI email tools have focused on faster writing, but Notion’s priority is transforming how users interact with their inboxes.
Future plans include iOS support, additional product integrations, and the ability to manage multiple inboxes in a single view.
