Manychat, the AI-powered messaging platform enabling businesses to automate and manage customer engagement across leading social channels, has raised $140 million in Series B funding led by Summit Partners. The round marks a major inflection point for the company, which now serves 1.5 million businesses across 170 countries and supports billions of messages annually across Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger, TikTok, and Telegram.
CEO and co-founder Mike Yan said the new funding will drive expansion across R&D, sales, and global support, with a focus on integrating more advanced AI features. “Our goal is to create not just automated responses, but personalized engagement that drives real outcomes,” he said. Manychat is already nearing profitability and has grown significantly since its 2015 founding, when it launched as a simple Telegram chatbot builder. Today, it powers conversations for clients including Nike, Yahoo, and The New York Times.
Summit Partners’ Sophia Popova, who joins the board, said Manychat is uniquely positioned as commerce shifts toward always-on social messaging. “While other chatbots focus on support, Manychat drives engagement and conversion — exactly what today’s businesses need,” she said. The company aims to lead the next generation of messaging by combining automation, personalization, and revenue-focused design in a single, scalable platform.
