AI platform Cohere has acquired Ottogrid, a Vancouver-based startup specializing in enterprise tools for automating market research and data enrichment. Ottogrid, founded in 2023 by Sully Omar and Homam Malkawi, will wind down its standalone product, with customers receiving advance notice and transition support.
Cohere CEO Aidan Gomez said the acquisition will enhance North — Cohere’s AI assistant for knowledge workers — by integrating Ottogrid’s smart table and document analysis technology. Ottogrid had previously raised $2 million from backers including GV, Untapped Capital, and several leading founders.
Omar said the partnership will allow the team to scale automation for enterprise workflows and deepen Cohere’s AI-driven productivity offerings across sectors like finance, healthcare, and government. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
