Meta Releases ‘Llama for Startups’ Program to Drive Adoption of Its AI Models

Meta has announced the launch of Llama for Startups, a new initiative designed to accelerate adoption of its Llama AI models among early-stage U.S. companies building generative AI applications. The program offers select startups direct technical support from Meta’s Llama team, and in some cases, financial backing of up to $6,000 per month for six months to offset AI development costs.

Meta stated that eligible startups must be incorporated in the U.S., have raised under $10 million, and employ at least one developer. Applications close on May 30.

This move comes as Meta intensifies efforts to secure leadership in the open-source AI model ecosystem, where competitors like DeepSeek, Google, and Alibaba’s Qwen are gaining traction. Despite recent setbacks in its Llama roadmap, Meta remains committed to scaling its generative AI footprint and aims to generate up to $3 billion in AI revenue by 2025.
