Unikie has officially launched its AI Lab, a strategic investment aimed at accelerating the adoption of artificial intelligence in industrial applications and enhancing its own AI-powered product development. Led by CTO Niko Haatainen, the lab will serve as the core of Unikie’s AI expertise. Silo AI founder and CEO Peter Sarlin has joined as an investor and advisor, reinforcing the lab’s international vision.
Haatainen stated that firsthand experience integrating AI into Unikie’s development has enabled the company to deliver practical solutions to clients, not just theoretical frameworks. The AI Lab will focus on industrial automation, autonomous mobility, and real-time quality control, while also scaling internal AI tools.
With plans to expand the AI team to 100 specialists, CEO Juha Ala-Laurila emphasized the lab’s mission to deliver measurable business value. Sarlin added that Unikie is well-positioned to become one of Europe’s leading AI players, citing its deep integration of AI into products like the Unikie Marshalling Solution for autonomous logistics.
