Alation Acquires Numbers Station to Accelerate AI Agent Deployment for Enterprise Data

Alation, the enterprise data intelligence platform, has acquired AI-native startup Numbers Station to enhance its ability to deliver large language model-powered agents that operate on structured enterprise data. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Founded in 2012, Alation serves over 600 enterprise clients, including Nasdaq, Hertz, and Samsung, and has raised over $300 million from investors such as Andreessen Horowitz and General Catalyst. By integrating Numbers Station’s AI capabilities — designed specifically for structured data — Alation aims to accelerate the release of intelligent data agents for documentation and quality assurance.

CEO Satyen Sangani stated that the combination of Alation’s metadata and connectors with Numbers Station’s AI technology creates a foundation for scalable, trustworthy LLM-based automation in enterprise data environments. Integration is expected by the end of the current quarter.
