Amsterdam-based startup ReadLer, incubated at Vrije Universiteit, has raised a €350,000 convertible loan from the Noord-Holland Innovation Fund to accelerate development of its AI-powered digital speech assistant, Speaklee. Founded by Quint Wiersma, Francisco Blasques, and Pascal Koot, the company is building technology to support children with speech and language disorders, offering instant feedback on pronunciation and vocabulary through machine learning.
The funding will drive product development, validation, and expansion, with partnerships including Auris, a leading organization supporting children with speech and hearing impairments. Speaklee is already available as a web app and will soon launch in app stores, aiming to broaden access to digital speech therapy and create equal opportunities for children to improve communication skills.
