Halo Launches AI-Powered Smart Glasses with Real-Time Memory and Information Recall

Former Harvard students AnhPhu Nguyen and Caine Ardayfio have unveiled Halo X, a new line of AI-powered smart glasses designed to record, transcribe, and deliver real-time information directly to the wearer. The startup Halo, backed by $1 million in seed funding led by Pillar VC with participation from Soma Capital, Village Global, and Morningside Venture, plans to price the device at $249, with preorders opening this week.

The glasses, which discreetly record conversations and generate instant prompts, aim to act as an “infinite memory” system. Halo relies on transcription partner Soniox and chatbot engines Google Gemini and Perplexity to process real-time responses.

While Halo positions its product as a breakthrough in AI-driven wearables, the launch has sparked concerns from privacy advocates who warn of the risks of normalizing covert recording devices. Despite these debates, Nguyen and Ardayfio see Halo X as the first step toward scalable, always-on AI augmentation in consumer eyewear.
