Meta announced it is bringing an AI assistant to Facebook Dating, designed to help users discover more personalized matches and refine their profiles. The assistant allows users to request tailored searches, such as finding someone in a specific location or profession, and aims to improve matchmaking efficiency.
Alongside the chatbot, Meta unveiled Meet Cute, a weekly feature that delivers a surprise match generated by its algorithm to reduce swipe fatigue. The company reported a 10% year-over-year increase in matches among 18- to 29-year-olds, with hundreds of thousands of new profiles created monthly in that age group.
The launch underscores Meta’s push into AI-driven dating, competing with established platforms like Tinder, Hinge, and Bumble, all of which are rapidly integrating AI features.
