Cohere, the enterprise-focused AI model developer, has secured an additional $100 million in funding, lifting its valuation to $7 billion. The raise follows an oversubscribed $500 million round in August at a $6.8 billion valuation. New backers include the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) and Nexxus Capital Management.
Alongside the funding, Cohere announced a partnership with AMD, one of its investors. The company’s Command-family AI models — including vision, translation, and reasoning — will now run on AMD Instinct GPUs, while AMD has also become a Cohere customer. Cohere emphasized it will continue supporting Nvidia GPUs.
Founded in 2019 by Aidan Gomez, co-author of the seminal transformer paper, Cohere is strengthening its position as a provider of enterprise AI built around data sovereignty and local control.
