Mirelo Raises $41M Seed to Bring AI-Generated Sound Effects to Video Creation

Mirelo, a Berlin-based AI startup focused on automated sound design, has raised a $41 million seed round led by Index Ventures and Andreessen Horowitz, with participation from Atlantic and prominent AI founders including Arthur Mensch and Thomas Wolf. Founded by AI researchers and musicians CJ Simon-Gabriel and Florian Wenzel, the company develops models that analyze video content and generate synchronized sound effects.

Mirelo’s latest release, Mirelo SFX v1.5, adds context-aware audio to AI-generated video, addressing a major gap in current video tools. The funding will support hiring, research and development, and expansion of its API-first platform and creator workspace, Mirelo Studio. The company plans to scale globally while maintaining artist-friendly training and licensing practices.
