Tinder announced continued testing of Chemistry, an AI-powered feature designed to reduce swipe fatigue by helping users find more relevant matches with fewer interactions. The tool, introduced last quarter by parent company Match Group, uses AI-driven questions and, with user consent, insights from a phone’s camera roll to better understand interests and personality.
During Match Group’s Q4 2026 earnings call, CEO Spencer Rascoff said Chemistry is currently being piloted in Australia and offers a new AI-led way to engage with Tinder by surfacing a smaller number of higher-quality profiles. The initiative comes as Tinder faces user burnout and subscriber declines, with AI also being applied to recommendations, safety features, and broader discovery redesigns aimed at improving relevance, trust, and engagement.
