Perplexity Unveils Enterprise-Focused AI Agent System Powered by Multi-Model Architecture

Perplexity has introduced Perplexity Computer, a new cloud-based agentic system available to subscribers of its $200-per-month Max tier. The platform integrates 19 AI models into a single environment capable of executing complex workflows autonomously, including generating subagents to handle specialized tasks. Designed for advanced research and enterprise users, the system can collect financial, legal, and statistical data, produce analysis, and deliver outputs as websites or visualizations.

The launch reflects Perplexity’s strategic shift toward high-value enterprise applications and multi-model orchestration. Company executives emphasized that model specialization, rather than commoditization, is shaping the AI landscape, with the platform dynamically selecting optimal models for tasks ranging from coding to medical research. Perplexity also confirmed expanded independence from third-party APIs through its own AI-optimized search infrastructure, while continuing to prioritize enterprise subscriptions and revenue growth over mass-market user metrics.
