Microsoft Scales Back Copilot Integration in Windows 11 to Refocus AI Strategy

Microsoft has announced a series of updates to Windows 11 aimed at improving user experience, including a reduction in the number of integrations for its AI assistant, Copilot. The company confirmed that Copilot features will be scaled back across applications such as Photos, Widgets, Notepad, and the Snipping Tool as part of a more targeted approach to AI deployment.

Pavan Davuluri, Executive Vice President of Windows and Devices, indicated that Microsoft is refining how AI is integrated across the operating system, prioritizing use cases where functionality delivers clear value to users. The shift follows growing user concerns around trust, privacy, and the overuse of AI features.

The update reflects broader feedback from the Windows community, as Microsoft adjusts its AI strategy while continuing to enhance core system performance and usability.
