Agile Robots is integrating Google DeepMind’s Gemini Robotics models into its industrial systems as part of a research collaboration aimed at advancing AI-driven automation.
According to theMunich-based Agile, the effort focuses on applying foundation models to real-world robotic deployments, combining DeepMind’s AI models with Agile Robots’ installed base of more than 20,000 systems and its industrial robotics platform. The companies plan to use live deployments to generate data, refine models and improve performance over time.
“By integrating Google DeepMind’s Gemini Robotics foundation models into our scalable industrial robotics platform, we are positioning ourselves at the cutting edge of a rapidly growing market — and taking a decisive step toward autonomous, intelligent production systems that can transform entire industries,” CEO and founder of Agile Robots Zhaopeng Chen said in a LinkedIn post.
The collaboration centers on building more adaptable robots for manufacturing and industrial environments, where tasks often require variability, precision and reliability at scale. Initial work will target high-value use cases in sectors facing labor constraints and increasing demand for automation.
Agile Robots said the approach links deployment, data collection and model training in a continuous loop, using operational data from robots in the field to improve AI models and expand capabilities.
