AI Industry Shifts Toward Enterprise Focus and Digital Identity as OpenAI Restructures and World Scales

OpenAI is realigning its strategy around enterprise AI, following the departures of key figures including Kevin Weil and Bill Peebles. Their exits coincide with the scaling back of experimental initiatives such as the Sora video model and the integration of OpenAI for Science into broader research efforts. The company is concentrating resources on core enterprise products and its long-term “superapp” vision, with additional leadership change including Srinivas Narayananstepping away from enterprise applications.

In parallel, Tools for Humanity is expanding its World identity platform, supported by Sam Altman, to address challenges created by AI-generated content and digital trust. Chief product officer Tiago Sada outlined new integrations across consumer and enterprise platforms, including Tinder and Okta.

The platform’s biometric verification system and tiered identity model aim to scale “proof of human” authentication, reflecting a growing need for infrastructure that can distinguish human activity in an increasingly AI-driven digital environment.
