August Robotics has raised $30 million in a Series B funding round led by Big Pi Ventures as the construction robotics company looks to expand production, increase deployments and develop additional automation systems. Existing investors Blackbird, Skip Capital, Tanarra and Future Family Office joined the round, along with construction-focused investor GS Futures.
August Robotics said the funding will support scaling its robotic systems, expanding AI development efforts and creating new products for construction, infrastructure and industrial applications. The new capital will also support expansion across its global operations, including new facilities in Europe and Australia, as demand grows for robotics systems designed to address labor shortages and speed construction timelines.
“In recent months, our drilling robots have fundamentally changed what is possible in data center construction, compressing construction schedules and helping our customers to bring critical infrastructure online faster than ever before,” founder and CEO Alex Wyatt said in the announcement “With this Series B funding, we will expand into new markets and geographies, continue scaling our AI androbotics platform, and accelerate the development of the next generation of robots that automate dirty, dangerous and dull tasks across the economy.”
The company noted its latest systems, include autonomous drilling robots, are designed for large prefabricated construction projects, initially targeting AI data center construction. August Robotics said the systems were developed in partnership with DeWalt and have already been deployed at large-scale data center projects in the U.S. and Europe.
Founded in 2017, the company develops autonomous robotic systems designed to automate construction and building workflows. According to August Robotics, its platform combines robotics, software and fleet management tools that allow multiple robots to work together while handling tasks such as navigation, coordination and real-time adjustments on job sites.
