Google Brings Gemini-Powered Podcast Lessons to Google Classroom

Google has launched a new Gemini-powered audio lesson feature in Google Classroom, allowing educators to generate podcast-style lessons designed to improve student comprehension and engagement. The tool enables teachers to create AI-generated audio content by selecting grade levels, defining topics, setting learning objectives, and choosing formats such as interviews, roundtable discussions, or conversational dialogue.

The feature is accessible through the Gemini tab in Google Classroom and is available to users on Google Workspace Education Fundamentals, Standard, and Plus plans. Google said the initiative is aimed at aligning classroom instruction with student media habits, as podcast listening continues to rise among younger audiences.

The release builds on Gemini for Classroom, first introduced in 2024, as Google continues to expand AI-driven tools for lesson planning and instructional customization. The company emphasized the importance of responsible AI use, encouraging educators to review and adapt all AI-generated content to meet classroom needs and local education policies.
