Bumble has unveiled a new generative AI assistant called Bee, designed to function as a personalized digital matchmaker that learns users’ preferences and relationship goals through private conversations. The feature was introduced during the company’s fourth-quarter earnings announcement and is currently being tested internally before an upcoming beta launch. Bumble founder and CEO Whitney Wolfe Herd said the AI system is intended to analyze signals such as values, communication style, lifestyle, and dating intentions to identify more compatible matches.
The assistant will initially power a new feature called “Dates,” where Bee analyzes user conversations to recommend potential matches and explain why two individuals may be compatible. The system is designed to move beyond traditional swipe-based interactions and create more context-driven connections.
The launch is part of a broader AI-driven redesign of the platform as Bumble seeks to re-engage younger users and modernize the online dating experience. The company reported $224.2 million in fourth-quarter revenue, with average revenue per paying user rising to $22.20, as it continues integrating AI across its matchmaking, safety, and profile features.
