Kandi Technologies Group is forming a joint venture with HawkRobo Systems to bring autonomous security quadruped robots to the North American market.
The Chinese company said the new entity, KH Robotics, will focus on commercializing robotic security systems designed for logistics parks and similar facilities. According to Kandi, one of its China-based subsidiaries will hold a 70% controlling stake and lead manufacturing and deployment, while HawkRobo will contribute robotics hardware and AI software that power the system’s core capabilities.
Kandi indicated the partnership allows it to combine its manufacturing scale and supply chain infrastructure with HawkRobo’s robotics technology and the joint venture is structured to handle full-stack development, from hardware production to software integration and field deployment.
The robots are being designed to operate autonomously in complex environments, with features including:
- Autonomous patrol
- Multimodal environmental perception
- Anomaly detection
- Audio-visual warning systems
- Integration with existing security infrastructure
KH Robotics will be led by Oliver Zhang, a former senior executive at Hikvision North America, who is expected to oversee market entry and customer development. Kandi said Zhang’s experience in the regional security market and industry relationships will be central to accelerating adoption.
The company expects the joint venture to move into localized testing and early deployments before scaling production, with initial commercial deliveries targeted for 2026.
KH Robotics is expected to begin with targeted deployments in logistics and industrial environments, with the potential to expand into other security applications as the technology matures.
