Babylon Founder Ali Parsa Reveals New AI Assistant for Doctors with Startup Quadrivia

Ali Parsa, founder of Babylon, has launched Quadrivia, a new healthtech startup that emerged from stealth with a beta version of its AI assistant for clinicians. The UK- and Jersey-registered company recently secured pre-seed funding from Swedish investor Norrsken.

Quadrivia’s AI assistant, called Qu, aims to assist clinicians with administrative tasks, patient communication, decision support, and monitoring in multiple languages. Currently in its testing phase, the assistant is designed to be used across various healthcare settings, including public healthcare systems, insurers, private providers, and pharmaceutical companies. Parsa stated that Qu is “just at the beginning of its journey,” with plans to become a comprehensive, affordable assistant across the care spectrum.

Parsa’s new venture enters a competitive market as other European startups such as Denmark’s Corti and France’s Nabla have raised significant funds to develop AI tools for clinicians. Additionally, healthtech leader Doctolib launched an AI assistant earlier this year, and UK-based Tortus is trialling a GenAI tool with the NHS. Despite the crowded space, there is increasing adoption of AI solutions in healthcare to address staff shortages and streamline patient care.
