Shopify has unveiled a new suite of AI-driven tools aimed at streamlining the e-commerce setup process for its merchants. Among the highlights is an AI-powered store builder that generates storefronts from a single user prompt — such as “tennis gear and stylish athleisure” — allowing merchants to bypass traditional coding requirements and accelerate site creation.
At its biannual Editions launch, the company also introduced upgrades to its AI assistant, Sidekick, now featuring voice chat, screen sharing, and mobile support. According to Shopify, Sidekick has seen usage more than double since early 2025.
CEO Tobi Lütke has previously hinted that AI could help Shopify scale operations efficiently, and this latest release signals a deepening commitment to AI-native commerce infrastructure.
