Fashion AI Company Alta Closes $11M Round for Movie-Inspired Wardrobe Assistant

Alta, the AI personal-styling platform founded by Jenny Wang, today announced an $11 million seed round led by Menlo Ventures with backing from Michelle Obama’s stylist Meredith Koop, Algaé Ventures, Benchstrength, Phenomenal Ventures and angels including DoorDash CEO Tony Xu, supermodels Jasmine Tookes and Karlie Kloss.

Wang said the funding “will expand our engineering team and refine in-house models that match outfits to budget, lifestyle, weather and calendar events.” Users photograph closets or forward receipts, then dress an avatar and test new purchases; Koop trained Alta’s recommendation engine with fashion expertise.

Alta is partnering with the CFDA, rolling out in Europe with LVMH support, and planning retailer integrations. The launch revives the iconic “Clueless” virtual-closet concept for the generative-AI era globally.
