Encord Announces $60M Series C to Expand AI-Native Data Infrastructure for Real-World Applications

AI data infrastructure startup Encord has secured $60 million in Series C funding led by Wellington Management, bringing total capital raised to $110 million. Existing investors Y Combinator, CRV, N47, and Crane Venture Partners participated alongside new backers Bright Pixel and Isomer Capital.

The company plans to use the funding to advance what it describes as a universal, AI-native data layer supporting the full lifecycle of production AI systems, including data preparation, curation, model evaluation, and alignment. Encord’s platform is designed to manage complex multimodal datasets such as video, images, and sensor inputs, critical for applications in autonomous vehicles, robotics, drones, and synthetic media.

Encord reported that managed data volumes on its platform grew from approximately one petabyte to over five petabytes in the past year, while revenue from customers developing physical AI systems increased tenfold, reflecting growing demand for specialized AI infrastructure.
