Figma has acquired Weavy, a Tel Aviv–based startup specializing in AI-powered image and video generation, as part of its effort to expand creative tools across its design ecosystem. The company will operate under a new brand, Figma Weave, marking Figma’s entry into advanced generative design workflows.
Founded in 2024, Weavy raised $4 million in seed funding led by Entrée Capital, with participation from Designer Fund, Founder Collective, and Fiverr founder Micha Kaufman. Its 20-person team will join Figma as part of the acquisition, though financial terms were not disclosed.
Weavy’s technology enables designers to merge outputs from multiple AI models to craft high-quality, editable images and videos through prompts, lighting adjustments, and layer controls. The platform will continue to operate independently in the near term before becoming fully integrated into the Figma Weave suite, reinforcing Figma’s goal to combine generative AI with human-centered design tools for creative professionals.
