Mistral AI Acquires Koyeb to Accelerate Full-Stack AI Cloud and Deployment Capabilities

Mistral AI, the French artificial intelligence company valued at $13.8 billion, has agreed to acquire Paris-based startup Koyeb, marking its first acquisition as it expands beyond large language models into full-stack AI infrastructure. The move supports Mistral’s cloud initiative, Mistral Compute, by adding serverless deployment technology for scaling AI applications and inference workloads.

Koyeb, founded by Yann Léger, Edouard Bonlieu, and Bastien Chatelard, specializes in simplifying deployment of AI models without managing underlying servers. Its 13-person team will join Mistral’s engineering organization led by CTO Timothée Lacroix, with the platform expected to become a core component of the company’s AI cloud offering. The acquisition follows Mistral’s broader investments in European data center capacity and enterprise AI services, reinforcing its strategy to build sovereign AI infrastructure across Europe.
