Vecna Robotics has raised $31 million to expand its autonomous mobile robot business and develop new warehouse automation capabilities for moving cases and pallets.
The round was led by Unless, with participation from existing investors Drive Capital, Tiger Global, Highland Capital Partners and Tectonic Ventures, according to the Massachusetts-based company. Vecna said it will use the funding to scale deployment teams, expand go-to-market efforts and develop new capabilities for its platform.
The company indicated it is developing pallet stacking and de-stacking as well as trailer loading and unloading capabilities, and those additions are designed to extend autonomous pallet movement into storage, staging and dock operations while reducing manual forklift travel and dock congestion.
The company’s current fleet includes the CPJ Co-bot Pallet Jack, Autonomous Forklift and Autonomous Tugger, all coordinated through its Pivotal orchestration platform. Vecna designs, manufactures and supports its autonomous mobile robots from Massachusetts.
Demand for CaseFlow, the company’s case-picking system, has more than doubled year over year since its 2025 launch, according to Vecna. The company also reported continued adoption of its autonomous forklift and tugger systems as customers expand automation across material-movement operations.
“Customers aren’t looking to automate a single task in isolation. They’re looking for flexible ways to improve the automated flow of work broadly across their operations,” CEO Karl Lagnemma said in the announcement. “We’re seeing that opportunity in the rapid growth of CaseFlow as well as demand across our entire fleet. This investment gives us additional capital to scale what’s working today while accelerating the capabilities that will allow our customers to automate even more of their material movement with a trusted, U.S.-based robotics platform they can rely on for the long term.”
CaseFlow combines autonomous robots with Vecna’s orchestration software for case-picking operations. A Modern Materials Handling report on a deployment at GEODIS found that the system doubled picking throughput while increasing safety and reducing training time, according to Vecna.
GEODIS Senior Operations Manager Steve Elsbury said in the announcement that workers using the robots were picking twice as much as they had with manual pallet jacks.
“New pickers working with the robots typically start at a performance level of 200%, compared with the previous setup,” Elsbury noted. “Their training starts with the robot system itself, versus requiring employees to first learn how to drive the equipment, navigate the facility, and use the WMS interface. Along with everything else, the new setup increased the safety of our teammates on the floor.”
