Google Expands Gemini AI Integration in Chrome to India, Canada, and New Zealand

Google has announced the expansion of Gemini integration in the Chrome browser, extending access to users in India, Canada, and New Zealand as part of its broader push to embed artificial intelligence directly into everyday web browsing. The rollout introduces a Gemini-powered sidebar on desktop that allows users to interact with Google’s AI assistant while viewing webpages.

The feature enables users to ask questions about on-screen content, summarize webpages, compare information across multiple tabs, and generate quizzes to better understand topics. Gemini can also connect with Google services including Gmail, Drive, Keep, YouTube, Maps, and Calendar, enabling users to compose emails, summarize videos with timestamped highlights, or organize their schedules directly from the browser.

The update expands language support to include English, Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Telugu, and Tamil. Google also confirmed that Gemini in Chrome integrates Nano Banana 2, its generative AI image tool, allowing users to modify images within the browser environment.
