OpenAI has implemented a series of leadership changes as it continues scaling its AI research and enterprise operations. The update was confirmed following internal communication from Fidji Simo, who oversees AGI development.
Brad Lightcap, the company’s COO, is transitioning to lead special projects focused on complex deals and investments, reporting directly to CEO Sam Altman. Denise Dresser, recently appointed chief revenue officer and former Slack CEO, will assume key commercial responsibilities.
Fidji Simo is temporarily stepping back due to a medical condition, with co-founder and president Greg Brockman overseeing product during her absence. Separately, marketing head Kate Rouch is stepping down to focus on cancer recovery, with plans to return in a reduced role.
The changes reflect ongoing efforts to maintain operational continuity as OpenAI expands its AI platform and global user base.
